  WiNRADiO WR-DNC-3500 Frequency Downconverter
WiNRADiO WR-DNC-3500 Downconverter This device contains a high-stability local oscillator, mixer and filters to convert an incoming frequency range of 1700-3500 MHz down to 0-1800 MHz. This can be used to extend the frequency range of VHF/UHF receivers, both WiNRADiO and third party products.

The local oscillator is stable enough for the downconverter to be usable even for narrow-band modulation modes, and has a low noise figure to be useful for professional as well as consumer applications.

For an alternative type of a high-performance downconverter, please see also our Antenna Multiplexer and Frequency Extender device.

The WiNRADiO WR-DNC-3500 Frequency Downconverter is especially suitable for use with WiNRADiO G3 series VHF/UHF receivers, such as the WR-G305i, WR-G305e, WR-G315i and WR-G315e receivers.

Unlike most low-cost downconverters, the WiNRADiO WR-DNC-3500 downconverter features a high-stability 0.5ppm reference oscillator, to ensure excellent frequency stability at the output.

Installation

WR-DNC-3500 Downconverter Installation The downconverter is connected to the antenna and the receiver via an SMA connector and a suitable low-loss coaxial cable. In this type of installation the power is applied directly to the downconverter. We recommend using well-filtered power, preferrably that of a linear power supply, such as WiNRADiO SF-41 series (which is already supplied with the downconnverter).

WR-DNC-3500 Downconverter Installation Alternatively, the downconverter can be placed closer to the antenna and powered via the coaxial cable. On the receiver side, the power can be injected via WiNRADiO WR-BT-3500 "Bias T" device. This would be a preferred option to minimize losses in the cable if the antenna is located at a greater distance from the receiver.
