The WiNRADiO WR-AX-G400-PF patch feeder is an L-Band feeder designed for a 1690 - 1710 MHz frequency range,
with a -3dB beamwidth of 85. Optimum performance is achieved when it is mounted as a prime focussed feeder onto a dish with a f/D ratio of 0.35 to 0.4.
Operating the feeder under these conditions, a VSWR of typically 1:1.15 can be expected mid-band.
The feeder expects a left hand circularly polarized (LHCP) signal, i.e. an RHCP inbound signal before being reflected off the dish.
The silver plated patch antenna is fitted with a "tuning slug" (set screw), which can be used to fine-tune the LHCP
signal phase for optimum performance. However, this should not be necessary, as the feeder is shipped pre-tuned
for the operating frequency band.
The feeder interface has an impedance of 50 Ohm and is provided via an N-type female connector.
The feeder sub-reflector is constructed from aluminium and is powder coated for environmental protection.
The N-Type connector and high density polyethylene cover are sealed against water ingress.
Three 4 mm studs are provided for mounting the device, with the studs located on a circle with radius 52 mm and spaced
apart equally at 120°
If the WR-AX-G400-PF patch feeder is mounted onto the WR-AX-400D 120cm dish, the antenna system will have an overall gain of 24 dBi,
with the -3 dB main lobe beamwidth of 11, while the side lobes are at least 25 dB below the main lobe.
