Overview

This is a medium-range external receiver similar to its popular predecessor WR-1500e with improved dynamic range, spurious signal rejection and selectivity. The frequency range is 150 kHz to 1.5 GHz (the US version excludes cellular frequencies 825-849 and 869-894 MHz).

(Computer not included, different antenna may be supplied.)

The WiNRADiO WR-1550e hardware/software package consists of the receiver unit, Windows-based software, RS-232 cable, multi-voltage power Adapter, start-up antenna and a users manual.

Software options include Digital Suite, Advanced Digital Suite, Trunking Option and Database Manager. Hardware options include the PC Card Adapter, USB Adapter and Portable Power Source.

This receiver is intended for cost-effective professional and amateur applications. It is particularly suited for VHF/UHF monitoring.

The external unit connects to an IBM PC compatible computer via a serial interface cable (PCMCIA or USB interface adapters are optional).

The unit has its own speaker. At the rear of the unit, there are connectors for the antenna, serial control port, PCMCIA control port, external speaker, power and a data output interface (discriminator output).

Software

The software features numerous tuning and scanning options, virtually unlimited memories and a rich on-line help facility. Support is also provided for software developers wishing to write their own applications code for WiNRADiO receivers.
